Depending on the number of items for sale, the time frame and the degree of specialisation of the equipment we would either recommend an industrial auction or a negotiated sale. Generally though, the larger the number of items for sale and the tighter the deadlines, the more effective an auction will be. On the other hand, negotiated sales may be more effective for specialised equipment.

The prices achieved through the dynamics of an industrial auction, fuelled by direct bidder competition, ensure an environment where a large number of items can be sold very efficiently for a high realisation

Sale Formats

Live auctions are conducted on-site or at a local event venue and are staged to create a competitive bidding environment to maximise realisation.

Webcasts transform a live auction into a worldwide event by introducing live, interactive bidding via the internet. Webcast provides real time bid pricing, asset descriptions, photos and messaging. Bidders can participate from their desks, making pricing decisions based upon the dynamics of the live bidding.

In online auctions all bids are placed online. This is our most popular method of sale, and in 2006 we conducted 465 online auctions.

Our Online Exchanges offer multiple clients with small parcels of assets an opportunity to sell in the same dedicated online auction. These auctions are run monthly for specific asset classes.

2. Negotiated Sale

Negotiated Sales are generally suited for situations in which the asset needs a longer period of exposure and a more targeted approach to potential buyers. Assets sold via Negotiated Sales tend to be more specialised or complex. In these situations, the transaction between the buyer and seller is mediated by your dedicated GoIndustry-DoveBid professional.
